Wet Rate for Plane Hire
Aeroplane Flight Time
We use the digital oil pressure clock, known as the VDO or Hobbs meter, to calculate flight time in the plane. This system accurately reflects engine hours from start-up to shutdown, ensuring precise billing.
Minimum Charge for Plane Hire
We calculate the minimum charge for each hire period based on the actual time from engine start-up to engine shut-down. If the total time is less than 1 hour, we charge a minimum of 1 hour.
Bulk Hour Discounts
You can buy bulk hour packages of 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 hours to access discounted wet hire rates. Moreover, these packages offer significant savings compared to the standard hourly rate, making them an excellent option for frequent flyers. For instance, purchasing a 50-hour package reduces the hourly rate to $245, resulting in considerable cost savings over time. Additionally, each package is exclusive of GST, and you must pay the full amount upfront to secure the discounted rate. You need to use the hours within 12 months unless we agree to an extension in writing. Fuel & Oil for Aeroplane
The wet hire rate and bulk hour packages include fuel and oil. Additionally, we provide fuel cards from Air BP, Viva Energy Australia, Aero Refuellers, Skyfuel, World Fuel Services, and AvFuel Services (based at Archerfield Airport). These cards enable easy refuelling of the plane with AVGAS during the hire period.
Third Party Charges
The wet plane hire rate and bulk hour packages do not cover third-party charges. Therefore, you are responsible for paying additional fees like airways, landing, movement, parking, refuelling call-out, and other third-party charges related to your aircraft use.
